A CREDENHILL woman missing since Sunday has been found alive in woodland south of the village.

62-year-old Lyn Garner was found at around 5.15pm yesterday by police and friends searching woodland near a disused quarry at Stretton Sugwas.

She was in an unconscious state and was taken to Hereford County Hospital by air ambulance. She is currently being treated in the intensive care unit and her condition is described as stable.

Concerns for Mrs Garner's safety had grown increasingly as her disappearance was said to be completely out of character.

A number of people had spent much of the day searching woodland south of Credenhill that incorporates the old Stretton Sugwas stone quarry.

Police in Hereford thanked Mrs Garner's friends, as well as Ministry of Defence and military personnel from the nearby SAS camp for their support with the search.
